How to Deal with Threats in Internet Business

Threats is a factor can be something really detrimental to any business. Be it your own corporation, Home business, Internet Business or even your own personal life. In the SWOT Analysis template, where I explained the four factors of SWOT namely: STRENGTHS; WEAKNESSES; OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS. The challenge is for you to turn THREATS into OPPORTUNITIES

In this post, I will illustrate an example of real life case studies on the THREATS factor. You may have heard of these cases but you may not have experienced it yourself. Same to me too until lately. I share this case study to you firstly to remind myself and secondly to get yourself prepared in the even that this happen to you. THREATS case study 1 – Banned by Search Engines

I have set up a blog on Beginners Golf Game 2 months ago. It is about golf for beginners. As a beginner in blogging myself, I was very exited after I noted this blog has been indexed by search engine within 2 weeks. So, I thought I have good chance to get this blog rank high since it has been indexed. As advised by my tutor, I kept posting new articles to this blog and checked on its ranking position everyday. One day, to my surprise, I could not find my blog on search engine page anymore. To confirm it, I did a search with my full url address and my blog url did not appear on the computer screen. I uspected this blog has been banned by the search engine. I used the same url to do a search on another search engine and I found my blog on page #1. That confirmed that my blog has being banned by the former search engine

What is wrong with this blog ? I have been doing blogging since May09 and has followed the blogging steps accordingly. Then I did some audit to my blog and noted that I have installed an auto-pulled article plugin to this blog. What it does is it automatically look for article of your choice and post them on your blog. I though this plugin is cool as I do not have to update my blog with new articles manually. Then I researched in forums, FAQ of search engines and realised that some search engine will banned any blog or website which has duplicate content (maybe too many).

My goodness, I knew it now by it ws too late, my blog is banned. There is no return but to make a humble appeal to search engine webmaster to reinstate my blog. So, I did all the corrective action by removing the auto-pulled article plugin, delete some article which may look like a duplicate, provide preventive action like writing my own unique article and make an apology to the webmaster of the search engine. Hopeful, my humble apology, I can convince them it was not my intention to violate the search engine rules.

Lesson Learnt: While blogging is fun and challenging at times, it is meant for individual to post their own unique articles. If you ever do blogging , please remember this case study

Turn Threats into OPPORTUNITIES

While search engine may ban your website or blog due to violation of their guidelines such as duplicate contents, You may be one of those who do not know what to write anymore after you have attempted several articles on your own.

On the other hand, you have to feed fresh and unique articles to your post in order for the search engines to indexed your blog. The more frequent your blog been indexed, the higher is your ranking and hence popularity increased. so is your reputation ( I meant you as a writer ) and your blog. The question is how to continue to write fresh articles? You have limited resources, right?

I learnt from gurus and through my own researches, writing articles is already a challenge for me, let alone keep writing fresh article of your niche. To help you (and me) to get this understood, below are ways to get ideas to write your own fresh and unique articles:-

Listed above are some of the many resources to get ideas for your niche. You merely need to pick a couple of them and start writing your own and unique articles. I am sure with enough practice, you can be a fantastic article writer.

To be fair, I was discouraged for a while after I noted my blog was banned, but then I continued to update my banned blog Beginners Golf Game with fresh articles and posted it frequently. Hopefully, by the time the webmaster evaluate my blog, he will find my blog full of unique and renewed articles.. I am not sure whether this banned blog can be reactivated, but I want to share my own golf experience so I created a new blog on Golf Swing Training Aids.
